fun week with nikki + joshy

not the best photo but still fun capturing the moment, i know its been ages since i posted anything and it has been a busy month, my very dear friend nikki and her little joshy came over from nz for a week
and boy what fun it was, i've known nikki since i was 15 we {blondie in the middle} worked together hairdressing and have such fond memories.......
it is so nice having friends who have known you for years, they know the ends and outs the sad and happy and i feel very blessed and enriched having her as a friend and in my life...
i txt her 3 weeks before she came saying i missed her next minute {nek minute} she had tickets booked
{like i said very blessed}.......

we were so so happy our little boys zeke + joshy hit it off straight away, holding hands at the airport, we were both pregnant at the same time and i think they are 1-2 weeks apart
some fun things we did

* day trip to flinders + red hill
* chadstone shopping day
* mornington markets
* dinner with the girls kate, bron + vik
* walk to the beach down the pier
* boys had a play date at the play centre
* got inspired by nikki cooking
* had a sussie home maker day {nikki made soup, cake etc}
* had a dvd day with the boys {a chillax}
* had a lovely lunch at berkley nursery
* introduced nikki to my fav shop {T2}
* drove down the amazing arthers seat

here are a few snaps of the boys playing too
i've finally got a new computer so i should be up and running a bit more, but have to admit i'm just enjoying life and at the moment have my grandad and dad + mum from nz for just over 2 weeks so i'm sure i'll have photos to share......
i truly hope your all well and loving life too, thanks for the comments and taking the time
to flick through this little blog.......

my fav part of the house........

yup thats right a booth in the kitchen......
we have always said we would love booth seats, whenever we go to a restaurant/cafe
and there are booth seats {thats where we will gravitate toward}
its like our little hub where we gather round with friends and chill.....
or the three of us sit and catch up on our days events.....
where is your fav spot in your house???????

+ some more pics of the kitchen {such a fun space} so not modern but quirky and open i just love it
all the space, so much fun to do baking etc, zeke stands on the booth seat and
we've been baking almost every week..........
so theres another sneek peek.....
hope you've all had a fab weekend we went to a benefit/gala at carousel in albert park supporting a good cause and i had the red hill markets on sat and sunday we went a picked up the
caravan we were given, we went and thanked the olderly couple and they just
loved zekky and wished us many happy memories holidaying in the caravan.......loads of fun times
ahead me thinks......so this week i'm gonna give it a clean out and greg will take it to work
to assess what work needs to be done on it {watch this space}
have a wonderful week smooch to all lisa xx

point + shoot : this is how we roll with sunday dinner!!!!

as a family we always have a cruisey dinner on sunday's, we came home to freshly baked bread {smells so good when you walk in the door}
i often eat it fresh with melted butter, but not tonight
i felt like something really tasty, so i

toasted the bread
spread a smidge of butter
smidge of homemade garlic aioli
advocado {love}
crumble goats cheese on top {creamy goat's cheese}
thin red onion
sprinkle pink rock salt {from murry river}
black cracked pepper
drissle infused oil on top {from box stallion winery}
this with a glass of cradle bay, sav blanc from marlborough new zealand

hubbs wouldn't stop raving about how delicious it was and i have to agree it was devine
we have had a great weekend and hope you all have too.....
did anyone else have anything really really yummy this weekend??????

delicious salad

fresh beetroot and goats cheese salad.......it was delicious, i have skimmed past it in the cookbook so many times and always wanted to try it... i made thai chicken sausage rolls (love pastry) for dinner and wanted a salad to have with it, i get very bored with the same old salads so it was time to try it out.....

i did however use danish fetta (because it was already in the fridge) instead of goats cheese and after boiling the beetroot i roasted them.......yum yum yummy the dressing was so tasty (i was in heaven)hubby dosn't really like beetroot so all the more for me and vik......

i think a carrot and coriander salad would of been good with the thai chicken rolls, if anyone has a good recipe for one and doesn't mind passing it on please email me a copy.....hubby loves it when masterchef is on i tend to "cook yummy stuff"

baking something new

baking something new
sunday, 21st march, 2010
i’ve felt pretty inspired of late, watching my kitchen rules, house and garden, and all the numerous cooking shows. have you ever watched a cooking show where you hear the ingredients and it’s like you can smell it, your mouth starts watering, then before you know it you don’t feel like having what you’ve got planned for dinner???.......yup that happens to me often........
this year i want to try some new recipes and this is one i came across in a magazine recently, key lime pie........i had a mini dinner party (they are so much fun) with a very special friend and tried it out it was scrumptious......a great size for a dinner party of about 8-10
good food for me is like art i suppose the colours, textures, presentation......think of a big white plate as a canvas.....what will you create, i’ll post my next recipe attempt and maybe even take a snap shot, if anyone would like the recipe email me.
