april is almost over eeekkkkkkk

honestly where has this month gone?????
this year is zoooming by at top speed, and leaving me a bit behind i have to admit, it has been
an eventful month though,
# my last red hill market till the end of the year
# my little zeke turned 5 {yesterday actually} he brings soooooo much joy to my world i just love him oodles      
# my cousin came to melbourne for a visit to see if she like's it and she's moving over in a few weeks
# one thing I've loved doing this month is culling things at home, feels so good getting rid
   of things you don't need, don't use etc, and I've started in on my studio.......
# catching up with friends which always ticks my boxes

who loves birthdays???? and why

well i am the big 36 years old on the 25th feb, and wow time sure goes by sooooo fast
i love birthdays and all that their about, and yes often im known to have a long
2-3 weeks of celebrations {how bout you????}

its funny we make a big deal about our children, nieces and nephews about how its a celebration and
we do the big count wow your  4 now etc........

to be honest that still hasn't changed for me, yes its not the same as when i was a child, i get excited but that giddy cant sleep isnt there like it used to, but i still see it as an amazing celebration and am
constantly thankful and reflect on the year past and i love being around loads of people and {ok i'll admit it} it is kinda nice when people make a fuss about little old ME!!!!!!!!

a big thankyou to everyone who made it wonderful with all the messages, txt, phone calls and the
lovely cards and gifts, you all made me feel so so valued

i had some lovely girls in my world org a day out i got my nails done, pedicure, lovely lunch at the portsea hotel, wonderful chats and got driven around the peninsula, followed by dinner at the epicurean, it was delish and if you haven't been you need to go thanks guys xx

then my brother and sis in law kate with the kids arrived from nz to live, so we org a welcome to australia lunch + birthday for tompo {friend} and myself so of course it was packed with loads of kiwis and some lovely friends, low key and ended up at the beach {perfect}

and on my actual birthday my lovely boys took me shopping and mumma now owns something from tiffanys fun fun, the service was amazing.........

making a pav + off to nz

first thing this morning {zeke in pj's} we made a pavlova.....yummy i love them and they are so so easy to make.......

we have our favourite recipe from the good old nz edmonds cook book..........

and the finished result....can't wait to eat it, with cream and raspberries......
zeke was the perfect helper {happy to lick the beaters}......

+ i'm off to nz first thing tomorrow morning my sister is having her fourth baby yes i said fourth and i'm going to be at the birth eeekkkkk excited and nervous and can't wait to meet this new addition, so i'm hoping to do a post while i'm in nz lets see how i go, all have a great week and enjoy the moments that in-capture you

point + shoot : baby shower {high tea style}

i had a baby shower at home this weekend for a very very special friend kellie, i can't wait to meet the new bubs and watch her as a mother........
the day was filled with beautiful family and lovely friends, with of course just a few games and loads of delish food, we went for a high tea theme, here are a few photos...

a fun day had by all, and the sunshine was just devine....

point + shoot : this is how we roll with sunday dinner!!!!

as a family we always have a cruisey dinner on sunday's, we came home to freshly baked bread {smells so good when you walk in the door}
i often eat it fresh with melted butter, but not tonight
i felt like something really tasty, so i

toasted the bread
spread a smidge of butter
smidge of homemade garlic aioli
advocado {love}
crumble goats cheese on top {creamy goat's cheese}
thin red onion
sprinkle pink rock salt {from murry river}
black cracked pepper
drissle infused oil on top {from box stallion winery}
this with a glass of cradle bay, sav blanc from marlborough new zealand

hubbs wouldn't stop raving about how delicious it was and i have to agree it was devine
we have had a great weekend and hope you all have too.....

wow it's been a very long time since i did a point + shoot, i forgot how much fun it is...........
we had such a lovely time yesterday arvo, our very dear friends org an impromptu dinner, pork, lamb potatoes on the webber (yum yum)
for a starter look at what my girlfriend sylvia made, saganaki {never tryed it before, oh so yummy}       homemade tomato chutney, home grown and made olives, sesame bread sticks and it was DELICIOUS micheal and sylvia are both such amazing cooks and know what foods go with what......and i love that their pantry and fridge are fulled with so many homemade produce, they are both polish and their food always seems taster than mine......let's just say if your invited for dinner/lunch or breakfast you don't want to say no!!!!

i haven't done a madeit find on clothing yet and i came across this sweet little suit, you can find this cute suit at minienvy on madeit, they call it spurt {spurt is wearing pink dots with a black and white eye today} how adorable is that?????

also on madeit, i added this new set from the circular collection, with some beautiful pink fabric

and i thought i'd give you a dose of some more pink things today

i'm amazed at all the wonderful things you can find on madeit..........i never knew there was an {edibles} section, on the very first page i found two things that i know my taste buds would love Ginger Tea 40g with Infuser a bargin and a great gift for someone or purely for yourself

i’ve felt pretty inspired of late, watching my kitchen rules, house and garden, and all the numerous cooking shows. have you ever watched a cooking show where you hear the ingredients and it’s like you can smell it, your mouth starts watering, then before you know it you don’t feel like having what you’ve got planned for dinner???.......yup that happens to me often........

this year i want to try some new recipes and this is one i came across in a magazine recently, key lime pie........i had a mini dinner party (they are so much fun) with a very special friend and tried it out it was scrumptious......a great size for a dinner party of about 8-10

good food for me is like art i suppose the colours, textures, presentation......think of a big white plate as a canvas.....what will you create, i’ll post my next recipe attempt and maybe even take a snap shot, if anyone would like the recipe email me.
