zeke's first trip to the snow........

how was your weekend????
what did you get up too?????
we went on a road trip with the popps {popplewell family} to lake mountain, we had so much fun
zeke hasn't been to the snow yet so we snuck a quick trip in...........there wasn't much snow
but for the kids FUN!!!!! and for me {sssshhhhhhhhh hehe}
we went tobogganing, went for a walk to find some real snow {not man made} the walk was
so much fun / kids were going on an adventure whoop whoop, we made a snow man and
threw snow balls at each other, mark popps whipped up some hot moroccon soup in the car
park..........funnest day in a long time
driving through all the beautiful trees and all the green ferns, was seriously like we were
driving through nz, so green and lush.....
then we came to marysville, it was emotional and yup i had a few tears, the trees went from lush to
all burnt from the devastating fires, seeing new houses built......
we saw it on tv it was in the news etc but seeing it with your own eyes, my heart ached for
the families / community involved in the devastation....

zeke's 5th birthday!!!!!!!

five years old......
he is our big boy, it still seems crazy how fast they grow, after his peter pan party here, this year
he wanted his party to be red, yellow and silver and for anyone who doesn't know
zeke LOVES cars!!!!!!
just like his dadda, we made cupcakes together the afternoon before {a highlight for me}
we had the usual fun games

. egg and spoon race {but with golf balls}

it was the first party where we did drop off the kids and pick up after
and i have to say it was a whole lot more relaxing and I'm hoping the kids had fun hehehe

who loves birthdays???? and why

well i am the big 36 years old on the 25th feb, and wow time sure goes by sooooo fast
i love birthdays and all that their about, and yes often im known to have a long
2-3 weeks of celebrations {how bout you????}

its funny we make a big deal about our children, nieces and nephews about how its a celebration and
we do the big count wow your  4 now etc........

to be honest that still hasn't changed for me, yes its not the same as when i was a child, i get excited but that giddy cant sleep isnt there like it used to, but i still see it as an amazing celebration and am
constantly thankful and reflect on the year past and i love being around loads of people and {ok i'll admit it} it is kinda nice when people make a fuss about little old ME!!!!!!!!

a big thankyou to everyone who made it wonderful with all the messages, txt, phone calls and the
lovely cards and gifts, you all made me feel so so valued

i had some lovely girls in my world org a day out i got my nails done, pedicure, lovely lunch at the portsea hotel, wonderful chats and got driven around the peninsula, followed by dinner at the epicurean, it was delish and if you haven't been you need to go thanks guys xx

then my brother and sis in law kate with the kids arrived from nz to live, so we org a welcome to australia lunch + birthday for tompo {friend} and myself so of course it was packed with loads of kiwis and some lovely friends, low key and ended up at the beach {perfect}

and on my actual birthday my lovely boys took me shopping and mumma now owns something from tiffanys fun fun, the service was amazing.........

baby jets first sleepover............

yes it was a busy weekend, but to be honest such a fun weekend.......
friday night was the first time we had jet {my nephf} over for a sleep over, zeke was so excited
all day he kept saying, "can we go and get him now"
once we picked him up we the four of us went on an adventure to bunnings {oh what fun we had}
do you like bunnings??????? i love bunnings we strolled around aimlessly, we swung on the swing seats, something me and zeke have done for years, jet loved it.....
then it was home for dinner + bathtime + bed
jet was a pure delight, i miss my nieces and nephew so much and having a little nephew around the corner is lovely......
then it was off to the skate park sat morning.......
looking forward to cuddles tonight {family dinner night}

then sat arvo our lovely lissie came around for a birthday dinner for her, we just love spending time with lissie and it was so nice to just love on her

then sunday we were all packed up and off to the flemington markets, loved seeing familiar faces and love it when friends pop in, its like a meeting place hehehe

for lissies birthday dinner, we had corn fritters, topped with cheese, red onion, tomato, advo {in lemon juice + splash of tabasco sauce} coriander, salad, bacon + sour cream
seriously yummy my mouth is watering while i type........
and for dessert pav with cream cheese frosting + cream, raspberries + toasted almonds

a wonderful time with grandad dad + mum

wow i've had the best few weeks with my grandad dad + mum visiting from nz......i feel like i've needed the past week to recover hehehehe
my grandad is 90 in a few months and he was amazing we did so much stuff, here is a list of the things we did while they were here

. visited the shrine of remembrance
. walked to the beach twice
. day trip to sorrento/portsea
. lunch at federation square
. eureka sky deck 88 floors high
. annie at the regent theatre
. flinders
. chocolate factory
. wine tasting + lunch at t'gallant
. yummo dinner at cousin adams
. took them all to the vintage shed
. crown casino
. sovereign hill in ballarat
. family day with cuzzys in rosebud
. robert gordon in pakenham
. lunch on the top of the hill at arthurs seat
. visited masters for the first time
. visited gregs workshop
. and loads of other little things in between

it was a whirlwind two weeks and have to admit have been missing them this past week
some great memories, my favourite parts were sitting down and hearing these amazing stories that i had never heard before and learning new things about my grandad........
and two favourite days were me + grandad going into the city and watching annie {fantastic} the
costumes, singing fun fun and the day grandad, dad, mum + myself drove
to ballarat and went to sovereign hill amazing i've lived here 9 years and finally went there
a must......

zeke's PETER PAN party

wow wee what a weekend, zeke turned 4 on the 23rd april but we celebrated by having a peter pan party on saturday.......after all the rain we had last week the sun was out to play for us {mumma was very happy about this} so we had the marquee up, a jumpy castle {thanks fi} and little areas for the kids to play......
thanks to vik, bek, elissa, fi + mel you girls were fabulous

he had such a fun day and to end the day was a walk to the beach with some cuzzies with pizza + chips he obviously had a wonderful day he crashed early
